A recent article from the Ministry of Science and Technology describes advancements made in integrated electric propulsion systems which it describes as reaching parity with international levels, and advancements in electromagnetic launch systems which could be applicable for aircraft catapult launch systems, rail guns, and even potential satellite launch systems. Chinese research and development into this field has been well documented over the years, and such disclosures are not a surprise.
